VBS-Freedom in the Marketplace-Last night

Dear church family-

I would like to invite you to the last night of VBS.  We have a meal together and then go into the sanctuary to have a worship service where we will sing, talk about the mission project – Schools in the Sand, hear our last drama and see the slide show of the week.  This is a great time to come and see what God has done throughout the week of VBS.  The meal costs $5 per person and you will get grilled chicken, rice and salad with a drink.  If you plan on coming to the meal, please let Alicia know ASAP as she needs to have an official food count for the caterer.

Here is a little about our mission project for the week:
This project came to our attention through two members of our church who were Pakistan missionaries.  Schools in the Sand was founded by Caleb John, back in 2001, who wanted nothing more than to share his love of Christ and the desire to see children get a good education.  There are many remote villages in Pakistan which predominately have Hindu families and they do not have enough money to send their children to school, let alone pay for the uniforms and books.  Not only that, but there is an animosity between the Hindus and the Muslims of Pakistan so that the Hindus are discriminated against even if they try to go to school in the city.  Seeing this broke Caleb’s heart and he decided to start this ministry of schools so that Hindu children would not be discriminated against, but would be told how much Jesus loves them.  The schools are set up Family style, where all the children learn together in one room ranging in grade from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade.  Many children and families have been come to know Jesus through his ministry and have even been baptized. If it were not for these schools, these children would not be getting a basic education.  It is an honor to support this ministry through our VBS this year.  If you have any questions, please call Alicia Glass regarding this ministry.

So Thursday, June 28 at 6:00 pm…come and experience VBS!!

Caring for Clifton all done for the year!!

Dear Church Family-

How amazing to be able to provide a fantastic meal for the staff and teachers on Tuesday, June 5.  They all ate until they were full and enjoyed every bite.  We are so grateful to have a church family who is so giving and caring towards others.  The way that you have given to Clifton through your time and money is showing that you care for them and they see that.  As each teacher and staff left, they all said how wonderful the food was and how much they appreciate our partnership.  So thank you for being so gracious!!

We will continue our partnership with them next year as well.  If you have any ideas of how we could help them or if you would like to be a part of the Connections Team, please email Alicia Glass at alicia@fpcmonrovia.org.  Thank you and God bless!!

Family We Help Support in Agriculural Work in Asia

Good News!

The family we help support in agricultural work in Asia has been stuck in Thailand for five months waiting on a visa for the country in which they serve.  Hooray!  The visa has come through and they are heading home to the area they serve.  Thanks to all of you who lifted them up during this trying time and continue to lift them up for a safe journey and fruitful service.
